The Fayetteville Public Library's longtime executive director Louise Schaper has decided to retire by October. We learned of this as the library's board of directors grappled with the daunting task of replacing her.
Schaper has been an amazing director for the library and saw it through, among other events, the construction of a new library building which was named Library of the Year in 2005 and is now a center of much gravity in Fayetteville.
