Officials for Fayetteville Public Schools are considering various plans for the renovation of the current high school building and will have to decide how to incorporate an addition made to the building in 1991, seen here to the left of the main entrance.
Fayetteville has grown, and outgrown its high school. After failing at a bid to sell the property to the University of Arkansas and to an investment group, the School Board is now wrestling with how to build a new school at the current site — and how to pay for it. Incorporating the "1991 Addition," as it is called, instead of leveling the entire site could save $10 million, but questions still remain.
