The Elk Burger
Elkins' Spencer Jones (10) leaps to score as West Fork junior Trusten DeSoto (22) reaches to defend Friday, Jan. 13, 2012, during the Elks' 62-60 overtime win at Elkins High School.
It was a great game and Jones is spectacular, and the Elkins gymnasium is easily the best to light because it gives such beautiful results. There is a railing that surrounds the stands and power outlets beneath it, so it's easy to hang strobes in such a way that it looks beautiful. Yet, better than all of that? The Elk Burger at the school's concession stand. Best burger in the county, no doubt about it.

Great shot, Shupe! Next time I'll have to tag along to check out the burger.
The Elk Burger is a little better during football season, since it is grilled outside on a trailer grill, but the indoor version is pretty good, too.
Maybe county basketball doesn't have the talent pool that the 7A schools have, but those kids always get after it and like to elevate. They make for very striking photos.
There is a lot of talent, and atmosphere, at that level, isn't there? Yet, Jones and Darian Harris, who plays for Shiloh Christian, are both amazing and could play for any team in the state.
