Flip a coin

Sarah McCall of Fayetteville, a recent graduate from the University of Arkansas, walks onto the UA campus along West Dickson Street through a light rain while on her way to apply to graduate schools.

With our few ideas the front page washed out because of rain, I set out trying to use the rain as my advantage. McCall was very nice. I really like this photo, and another that I shot a few feet away of traffic on Dickson Street in the rain. It's a more subtle shot that grew on me quickly; one that I've seen many times but never needed to take until today. I sent them both in to my editor who also seemed to like them both, but never made it clear which one he chose. I will have to wait to open the website and print edition tomorrow to see.
